BECKONING THE EASTERN WIND ---one episode in the Legend of 3 Kingdoms

Towards the end of the Three-Kingdoms Period (ca. AD 220), the Wu
Kingdom  and the Shu Kingdom  developed  a plan  to burn down the
camp of the Wei.  The eastern  wind was  needed  to make
this happen  in a season when the  Wind came mostly
from the
northwest.  An alter  was  set  up on the  Nanping  Mountain  and
prayers  were  said  by tlle  ChancellOr-of  Shu4o  'borrow'  the
eastern  wind for 3 days and 3 nights, just long enough  to cause
devastating damage to the Wei camp
