| Gu Qin Music "Beside the Orchids""猗蘭操 "Beside the Orchids" "Beside the Orchids" a work by Confucius It was a work of Confucius as written by Chu Chuan in his Compositions of Supernatural Secret. Among the list of Monk Chu Yueh4 of the Sung Dynasty on the early works of ku-ch 'in, there were twelve pieces attributed to Confucius. Of course its authenticity could not be ascer- tained. However, Confucius as a ku-ch 'in player could not be refuted, as had bee, p. written in all the classics. The standard of culture as a ~vhole was very much advanced at that time, why it was not possible to have some kind of notation for it? This piece could be found in more than a dozen books of ku-ch 'in scores. |
